Operating Procedures to Be Noted When Replacing Air Compressor Spare Parts
Attention shall be paid to operating procedures during the replacement of air compressor spare parts; otherwise, the normal operation of air compressor equipment will be affected. Replacement of air compressor spare parts shall generally be carried out by professional technicians to ensure fault-free operation of the unit.
The working environment of the air compressor shall be kept clean and dry. The air receiver shall be placed in a well-ventilated area. Welding or hot work is prohibited within a radius of 15 meters.
Hydrostatic tests shall be carried out on air receivers and air pipelines every two years. Pressure gauges and safety valves shall be calibrated at least once a year.
The air compressor shall be started under no-load condition. After stable operation, the unit can gradually shift to loaded operation.
Before opening the air supply valve, connect the air transmission pipeline properly. The pipeline shall be unobstructed without distortion. Notify relevant personnel prior to air supply. No personnel shall work or stand in front of the air outlet. The air receiver shall be placed in a ventilated location, and direct sunlight exposure and high-temperature baking are strictly forbidden.
The maximum internal pressure of the air receiver shall not exceed the value specified on the nameplate, and the safety valve shall remain sensitive and effective.
No abnormal noise or overheating shall occur at the air inlet and outlet valves, bearings and all other components.
The unit shall be shut down immediately for inspection if any of the following conditions occurs. Operation can only resume after troubleshooting: water, air or electric leakage; sudden interruption of cooling water; readings of pressure gauge, thermometer and ammeter exceeding specified limits; sudden rise of discharge pressure; failure of exhaust valve or safety valve; abnormal mechanical noise; severe sparking of motor brushes.
If the unit shuts down due to cylinder overheating caused by water shortage during operation, cold water cannot be added immediately. Cold water can only be filled after the cylinder naturally cools down to below 60°C.
The power wiring of the electric air compressor shall comply with electrical safety specifications. Repeated earthing shall be reliable, and the electric shock protector shall function sensitively. In case of power failure during operation, cut off the power supply immediately and restart the unit after power is restored.
For shutdown: unload the load first, disengage the main clutch, and then stop the internal combustion engine or electric motor.
After shutting down the air compressor, close the cooling water valve and open the air vent valve to drain oil, water and residual air from all stages of coolers and the air receiver. When the temperature is below 5°C, drain all accumulated water from each component before leaving.
When cleaning components with compressed air, never aim the air nozzle at people or other equipment.
Release residual air inside the air receiver upon completion of work. Drain cooling water from the air compressor in winter.
