After the installation of a new air compressor, check the control panel, which consists of display area, start/stop button, emergency stop button, setting button and other components.

Normal startup and shutdown of the air compressor shall be performed via the control panel except under special circumstances. In case of emergencies requiring immediate shutdown to avoid safety accidents, press the emergency stop button. Every oil-injected screw air compressor is equipped with an emergency stop button, which can only be used for emergency shutdown.

To guarantee correct rotation direction, stable voltage and normal current of the oil-injected screw air compressor unit upon startup, relevant parameters can be checked on the panel. Special attention shall be paid during the first startup to verify the forward/reverse rotation of the unit motor. A rotation direction arrow is marked on the compression main unit before delivery. For initial commissioning: press the start button and then immediately trigger emergency stop. Assign another person to observe the motor rotation direction. If rotating reversely, phase adjustment is required — swap any two phases of the 380V three-phase incoming power supply.

Before starting the air compressor, verify that the valve at the air discharge port is fully open and kept open. If the valve is closed, pressure inside the unit cannot be released during startup, which will cause the safety valve on top of the oil-gas tank to pop open and discharge screw oil.

Open the unit cabinet door and inspect for leakage, dripping or seepage. Notify the manufacturer’s on-site service personnel immediately if any leakage is found.

Open the unit cabinet door and check whether the screw oil level is within the safe range. Insufficient oil level may lead to high-temperature shutdown faults after startup.
